Amazing Trip
The Tungurahua volcano is known as "mama Tungurahua”. The province of Tungurahua has the name of this colossus, which houses in its skirts towns such as Baños and presents a unique show, although its existence is also is a threat to the villagers, as its greatness can also mean the amount of destruction it can cause in case of a strong rash. The activity of this volcano is a spectacle worth seeing at night.

Description
We meet at 10am in our office where our guide will help us with the registration and also with the necessary gear we will need for this adventure.
When we are ready we departue towards Pondoa, in about 1:30 we get the parking that is close to the entrance. From here we hike up for around 3hrs to the refuge. Here
we gonna rest till midnight when we start our summit.
In the afternoon we can walk a bit around, enjoy the sunset and all the beauty of this zone. around midnight we wake up put on our equipment, we get something warm and energetic
before we face the mountain.
After our guide give the last intructions and checking everything is OK. we start our summit, having a good physical condition and good weather in about 5hrs we get the Top,
we spend a while there and then we start to climb down to the refuge.
Being in the refuge we can have something warm, hike down to the parking place and retuning to Banos City.
Remember: Climbing Tungurahua Volcano takes two days, is not technical but hard. there two things that impede our summit. Weather&Physical Condition
Itinerary
Meeting
We meet at Amazing Trip office 20min before the departure, for checking the group and gear needed.
Banos, Pondoa
As soon as we get ready we start driving towards Pondoa community, and finally drive up to the Parking Place at 3600mt approximately.
Hiking up to the Refuge
From the parking place we do a 3hrs hiking to the refuge at 4000mt where we will rest till midnight
Tungurahua Refuge
In the afternoon we will walk a bit up to enjoy the landscape views and get more aclimatized.
Climbing Tunguarahua
We wake up at midnight, get ready with our gear and eat something energetic to start our climbing to the Summit.
Tungurahua Summit
From the refuge will take us around 5-6hrs to get the top, weather and phisical sondition could avoid us of reaching its summit.
Climb Down - Return
After reaching the top top we spend a while there and start climbing down to the refuge, resta moment, have breakfast and hike down to the parking place then drive back to Banos City.

Tungurahua Volcano
Tungurahua Volcano 5,023 metres (16,480 ft) is located in the Cordillera Oriental of the Andes of central Ecuador, 140 kilometres (87 mi) south of the capital Quito. Nearby notable mountains are Chimborazo (6,263 metres (20,548 ft)) and El Altar (5,319 metres (17,451 ft)). It rises above the small thermal springs town of Banos de Agua Santa (1,800 metres (5,900 ft)) which is located at its foot 8 kilometres (5.0 mi) to the north. Other nearby towns are Ambato (30 kilometres (19 mi) to the northwest), Baños and Riobamba (30 kilometres (19 mi) to the southwest). Tungurahua is part of the Sangay National Park.
